Why I'm Running

Whether you believe in active or inactive government, you can’t get what you want when things are secret.

When one party controls every decision in Washington, Trenton, the County, and the Township, their monopoly of power will keep:

  1. Common citizens from knowing who benefits from each decision.
  2. New ideas from stimulating creative solutions to the Township’s problems.

Any challenge to one-party rule increases your ability to achieve the kind of community you want to live in. Please, support this one!

Basic Statement

Kit Marlowe
Democrat for
3rd Ward Councilman

At the request of the Lower Township Democratic Club, I am a candidate for Councilman in the Third Ward of Lower Township in the Democratic Primary.

In 2015, I retired from working as a safety manager for an environmental engineering company, which gives me more time to pursue social justice. I moved then from Northern NJ to Lower Township, NJ. It has beautiful beaches, but people struggle to pay their bills about eight months a year.

At my former church, I was an active Sunday school teacher. My favorite age is kindergarten, but I have taught youth from 2 to 15 years old. In my current church, I lead the new Economic Justice Study Group. I now volunteer with Cape Island Habitat Restoration Task Force, with the East Lynne Theater Company, with Cape Hope Cares, and as a volunteer tax preparer with the County’s RSVP Tax Aide Program. I worked as a volunteer in the peace movement since 1968.

My college degrees are in chemistry and environmental engineering. I have had professional certifications in environmental management, industrial hygiene and occupational safety
